Campaign staffers depend on our software to raise critical funds by managing thousands of potential donations (Asks), recording donor commitments (Pledges), and when a donor makes a donation (Contributions).
We’re eager for your roast to help us understand how you think and communicate. We already love your experience and can’t wait to see what it would be like working with you!
On January 3, 2019, we launched Numero. We didn’t have customers. We didn’t even have code. But we did have an idea: what if we could build financial software that powers our democracy?
Running for office is hard work – the outdated software that runs campaigns makes it even harder. We believe it doesn’t have to be that way. That’s why we built Numero, a modern financial platform that Democratic elected officials and candidates at all levels of public office can use to manage the $4.5 billion in annual contributions to their political campaigns.
There’s been a 40% increase in the number of people running for office in recent years. Inspired by the current state of politics, people from every background imaginable have stepped up to run, including our CEO, Brian, who ran for Congress in 2018. Our other two co-founders, Susie and Karan, led the finance and technology arms of his campaign. They learned firsthand the painful process of manually stitching together critical finance and compliance data using outdated campaign software.
Our mission is to change that painful process and liberate hard-working candidates, campaign staffs, and volunteers, letting them focus on their most important work: talking with voters and representing their constituents in their communities.
In our first two years, we’ve already helped more than 200 campaigns raise $832 million. And there’s much more room for us to grow. The US has more than 500,000 elected officials, and many more candidates run for office at all levels of government.
We’re looking for a person to develop and execute a marketing strategy that makes Numero top of mind whenever candidates or campaign staffs are starting a campaign. The success of that strategy will be measured by the increase in the number of campaigns that become our customers.
Admittedly, we’re surprised at how quickly Numero has grown and inspired by how much more we could do. Numero is being used by the biggest campaigns in the country, and we need your help to expand it to everyone else.
For the past 2 years, we’ve been passive marketers.
We have a blog and occasionally send emails. We don’t, however, actively tweet or post on LinkedIn. There’s never even been an article written about us. And that passive approach has been 100% intentional. We’ve instead preferred to spend time with our early-adopter customers, carefully learning how to build the most beloved campaign finance software and grow organically through fanatical referrals.
After two years of learning and building, we’re now excited to tell our story and share our software with a larger audience of campaign managers and finance directors. If you don’t know what a campaign manager or finance director is, that’s okay.
In past lives, many of our teammates worked on campaigns or even ran for office, so we’ve got that area of expertise covered.
What we are looking for is someone who brings their own expertise to Numero and seeks to put their own positive mark on our fragile democracy.
Does that challenge get you excited?
We’re looking for someone who devises wild ideas with measurable results. Someone who loves designing social media posts in Canva and then jumping on the phone to negotiate a partnership or sponsorship opportunity. Someone who loves writing a carefully thought-out email or blog post and then reviews the Google Analytics results to see what works and what needs to be improved.
You’ll work directly with the CEO to build out the marketing strategy and execute the plan.

You have big ideas and sweat the small details. You’re looking for a new challenge in a job where you’ll learn and grow with awesome teammates. You want to work on something that matters.
You’re deeply curious about the problem you’re trying to solve. You have the experience to know what works and the humility to know that things change, that there might be a better way – and you’ll only know if you try.
You’re excited about working at a fast-paced start-up where everyone works like responsible adults because it was started by responsible adults. You’re not looking to eat ramen and pull all-nighters. Instead, you’re looking to work in a calm company with a clear sense of purpose. A company where everyone respects each other's expertise and time.
Most importantly, you have a strong sense of your place in history and want to make an impact on the most important elections in modern times.
